Concept
A house shaped by a path, stepping with the topography at the edge of the jungle.
Floating Roofs
Natural light enters through lifted roof planes while the house remains embedded in the landscape.
Project Narrative
A villa that follows the mountain footpath and turns the jungle into part of the spatial sequence.
AE Villa is located on a sloped site at the foot of a mountain, at
the beginning of the jungle in Playa Venao, Panama. The project was
designed to move with nature rather than impose itself on the land.
It begins with a path, and from that path the rooms, terraces, and
outdoor moments are formed.
The architecture responds to the internal climate with floating roof
planes that bring natural light deep into the spaces while keeping
them shaded and protected. The house combines planted terraces,
internal gardens, outdoor bathing areas, and dense jungle edges to
create a calm, tactile connection between daily life and the
surrounding landscape.
