Project Narrative

A compact residential composition shaped by privacy, angled volumes, and passive tropical cooling.

A5 Villa is a group of five villas planned on a relatively compact site in Maduea Wan. The project was carefully organized to create privacy between each villa while keeping the homes open toward the coconut forest in front of them.

The buildings are shaped through a network of unique angles, using maximum openings to extend the living spaces outward. Each villa is separated in a way that protects privacy, while the shared pool and exterior frontage create a common landscape that all the homes relate to.

The project uses a tropical ventilation strategy that naturally draws warm air upward, releases it outside, and pulls cooler air down into the living spaces. With the windows open, the homes can remain comfortable throughout the day with minimal dependence on air conditioning.
